Chao Yang and Yiling Tan from China placed 1st in the Adult Amateur Standard Open competition that was held at the UK Open Dancesport Championships, January 19, 2012, Bournemouth, England.
There were 94 couples all together competing in the Amateur Ballroom category for a chance at the title but it was Chao and Yiling that stayed on top in every heat, bringing home the gold at the end.
Chao and Yiling Tan began their partnership in January 2003 and were in the Youth age group at the time. They competed 11 times in 2011 and the UK Open is their second competition for 2012 so far.
