Michal Malitowski and Joanna Leunis, from England, successfully defended their title winning 1st in the Professional Latin DanceSport competition at the UK Open Dancesport Championships on January 19, 2012, in Bournemouth, England. This makes it their sixth time winning the at the UK Open in the Pro Latin division.
Michal and Joanna began their partnership in October of 2002. And just two months later they won the WDDSC World Professional South American Showdance Championship on December 07, 2002, in Scheveningen, Netherlands.
Michal and Joanna competed 11 times in 2011 and was one of their best years so far. Even though they had a stellar year in 2011 and are once more the UK Open Pro Latin Champions for 2012, they only have a current world ranking of 5 in the Professional Latin category by the World Dance Council (WDC). If they keep this winning trend going , they will definitely move up in ranking.
